[영어 회화] 외출 준비(의상, 메이크업, 머리) 관련 표현

 

우리가 아침에 분주하게 움직이는 이유가 바로 학교를 가거나 출근을 하기 위해서죠. 어떤 날은 외출준비가 착착 잘 되는 날이 있는가 하면 어떤 날은 이상하게 입으려는 옷이 안 보이거나 뭔가를 자꾸 떨어뜨리거나 일이 꼬여 시간이 지체되기도 합니다. 약속에 늦거나 지각하는 일이 있는 경우, 친구 또는 동료에게 '오늘 아침에 이래서 정신 없었어'라고 말할 때 표현하기 좋은 영어 표현을 정리해보았습니다. 모닝 루틴을 이야기할 때도 활용할 수 있는 영어 표현일 것 같네요. 

 

복장, 의상 관련 표현

1. put on ~을 입다

put on 뒤에 옷, 신발 등을 넣어 말하면 됩니다.

- a shirt, underwear, one's stockings, a pair of pants, a skirt, some socks, a tie, a scarf, one's shoes

 

put on은 옷을 입는 동작, wear은 옷을 입고 있는 상태를 의미해요. 영영사전 상 의미는 아래와 같습니다.

   - put on: to put pieces of clothing on your body

   - wear: to have something on your body such as clothes, shoes, and jewelry

• It's chilly outside, so I need to put on my favorite sweater.
• She put on her new dress for the special occasion.

2. zip up 지퍼를 올리다

• It's cold; don't forget to zip up your jacket before going out.
• The zipper doesn't go up because it's broken.

3. rummage through one's wardrobe / drawer 서랍을 뒤지다

• I had to rummage through my wardrobe to find the perfect outfit for the party.
• Stop rummaging through your drawer! Your socks are right here.

4. button (up) : 단추를 잠그다

* unbutton your shirt : 셔츠 단추를 풀다

• I realized that I buttoned up incorrectly only after arriving at the office.
• He always buttons up his shirt all the way to the top for a formal look.

5. pack one's backpack 가방을 챙기다

• Before I sleep, I pack my backpack with essentials.

6. coordinate / pair my top and bottom 상의, 하의를 매칭하다

• I am trying to coordinate my top and bottom for a stylish look.
• I need to coordinate my shoes with the rest of the outfit.

 

메이크업, 머리 관련 표현

7. apply some toner / lotion / cream on one's face 얼굴에 토너 / 로션 / 크림을 바르다

• After cleansing, it's important to apply toner on your face for hydration.
• She religiously applies lotion and cream on her face as part of her skincare routine.

8. put one one's makeup 화장을 하다

화장한다는 표현을 옷을 입는 것처 럼 put on 또는 wear를 사용하네요.

맞아.. 가면을 쓰는 것이나 마찬가지죠 😂

• She takes her time in the morning to put on her makeup before work.
• Before the event, I'll need at least 30 minutes to put on my makeup.

9. dry one's hair  머리를 말리다

• After the shower, I usually dry my hair with a towel before using the hairdryer.
• She prefers to air-dry her hair on sunny days.

10. style one's hair 머리를 손질하다

style one's hair 뒤에 with을 붙이면 ~로 머리를 스타일링(손질)한다고 표현하 수 있어요.

판고데기 a hair straightener, 그루프 hair rollers, 봉고데기 a hair curler 또는 a curling iron을 붙여 말해보세요.

• He spends some time every morning to style his hair before heading to the office.
