직장인이라면 하루의 가장 많은 시간을 회사에서, 회사사람들과 함께 보내게 되죠. 입사, 퇴사, 보고, 업무 교육, 야근, 결재 등 직장 생활에서 사용할 수 있는 표현들을 정리해봤습니다. 출퇴근 하면서, 업무 하면서 표현들을 자꾸 떠올리고 혼자 중얼거려본다면 훨씬 더 오래 기억에 남을거에요!

 

입사와 퇴사 관련 영어 표현

1. join / enter a company 입사하다

  • I am thrilled to announce that I will be joining XYZ Company next month.
  • After months of searching, I finally entered a reputable company in the finance sector.

2. do an internship 인턴 하다

become an intern이라고도 말해요.

  • During the summer, I had the opportunity to do an internship at a leading tech firm.
  • She decided to do an internship at a local hospital to gain practical experience in healthcare.

3. hand in one's resignation letter 사직서를 제출하다

모든 직장인은 누구나 가슴 속에 항상 사직서를 품고 다니잖아요. 

사직서는 resignation letter 또는 a letter of resignation이라고 합니다.

  • He plans to hand in his resignation letter by the end of the week and explore new career opportunities. 

4. quit a job 퇴사하다

업무와 교육 관련 영어 표현

1.  get training for new employees 신입사원 교육을 받다

  • New employees will get training sessions on company policies and procedures next week.
  • I remember getting training for new employees when I first joined the organization.

2. listen to one's boss's instructions 상사에게 업무 지시를 듣다

  • It's crucial to listen carefully to your boss's instructions to excel in your tasks.
  • During the team meeting, everyone listened attentively to the boss's instructions for the upcoming project.

3. report to one's boss 상사에게 업무 보고를 하다

  • Every Friday, we have a brief session to report to our boss about the progress of our projects.
  • As part of the weekly routine, employees are expected to report to their boss regarding ongoing tasks.

4. get approval from the boss 상사에게 결재 받다

  • Before implementing any major changes, it's essential to get approval from the boss.

5. work overtime 야근하다

  • Due to the tight deadline, we'll need to work overtime to ensure the project is completed on time.

6. work from home 재택 근무하다

줄여서 WFH라고 말하기도 해요.

7. send a message through the company messenger 사내 메신저로 메시지를 보내다

8. transfer a phone call 전화를 돌려주다

추가로 전화를 받다는 영어로 answer the phone, 전화를 끊다는 hang up the phone이라고 말하면 됩니다.

  • During the lunch break, calls are automatically transferred to ensure all inquiries are addressed promptly.

9. do paperwork 서류 작업을 하다

12. shred a document 서류를 파기하다

얼핏보다면 shared와 비슷해 보이지만 shred입니다. shred는 갈가리 찢다, 채를 썰다 라는 뜻이 있어요.

마트에서 슈레드 치즈를 보신 적이 있다면 이 슈레드가 바로 그 shred 맞습니다!

길고 가늘게 썰려 있는 치즈를 shred cheese라고 하죠.
